Well...off to school we sent Kate. A very emotional day for Glenn watching his baby start college, realizing she is a young woman about to start her own life. I had very mixed emotions...excited for her & scared for her. I have watched her grow up from a sweet little girl to a very strong willed, beautiful young woman who makes me proud. She stands up for herself & lets people know it....I think she will do just fine at school.....I already miss her....

Had 2 evenings with Jen from Missouri & Karen. We had a great time, lots of laughs. It was so great to see Jen....the 3 of us will be going to OZ in October!! Can't wait!!!! Like the red hair? I'm getting crazy in my old age....lol

It's going to be a beautiful day & I'm going to ride with my crazy group of biker chicks to meet for lunch with some other group from the Indianapolis area. Should be a fun day!! Once again this year I was chosen to participate in the Changing Gears ride...I have decided to take the plunge & venture to OZ for this. I figure this will be the only opportunity I have to visit Australia!! Glenn is supportive as usual...I wish he could join me but next year we will plan a romantic trip together....he really has been a blessing & a true support through everything I've been through.

Aren't they cute? Jilly with Britt....how they remind me of myself at their age...a fun trip to WalMart...lol...isn't it funny how silly things can amuse us so easily? After trying on silly hats, riding bicycles down the aisles & playing baseball....the WalMart police reprimanded them & sent them on their way....LOL...I tried to keep a straight face when they told me about it....Jillian is so much like me...look out!!!!

I spent the day with Chris & Sherri....Chris looks cute with her bald head...very strong resemblance to our Mom when she was bald. We laughed alot... I think it lifted her spirits. We bought her a few cute hats & some cute little headbands with bows....we found them in the little girls dept. at the store...lol....we each put one on & went in the house....she laughed when she saw us. I think it helps her to know that I was bald at one time too & I had a positive attitude...I make sure I convey that to her. Damn cancer....what it has done to our family & so many others....I just have to keep reminding her that she too can beat this monster...I showed her how to put a bandana on like a doo rag..lol...tried to tell her she can become a biker like me...lol...she just laughed...somehow I don't think that is in her plans, so I will ride for her!!

Life is so overwhelming right now...I can't remember xmas ever being this stressful or being this unorganized. Several people have told me they are the same way....
Thank God for Jillian wrapping most of the presents.....she has been a huge help!!
I'm having a houseful tomorrow & just planned my menu at 5:30 this morning!! I sure hope I can get what I need at the grocery store!!
Anyway, hope all have a wonderful holiday & not be as stressed as me!!!!

I passed my test for peer counseling!! The next step is to get the software put into my pc...good thing Glenn knows what to do!! After everything is set up I can start shadowing another counselor....then when they think I'm ready, they will cut me loose!! I feel very strongly about this & I know I can be an inspiration to other women.

I went for my training this weekend in Indianapolis to become a peer counselor for Y-ME. It was an emotional yet rewarding experience. I am anxious to start helping other women in need. I have this need to fulfill ever since my trip to CA. I hope I can live up to my own expectations....

New Direction

Well I've decided to make another change in my life. I am going to train as a peer counselor for Y-ME Breast cancer org. I'm going to Houston for a few days for the training & very much looking forward to it. After my trip to CA with all my new "sisters" I feel a need to continue with spreading the word that there is life after breast cancer!! I'm hoping it goes into a full time employment but for now it will be about 20 hours a month talking with other women, share their concerns & let them know they are not alone & you can have fun!!!
